Discovering Donna

It’s a random thought kind of day

so it’s just one of those days.  Today is the last day of the NaBloPoMo and I’m thrilled to have this done.  And it’s another thing I can cross of my list.

I’m not much into really putting something organized together so sorry for the scatterbrainness of it.

We’re going to dinner with a couple of D’s friends from High School tonight.  This is the guy they used to get into so much trouble together.  Yikes.  I can’t wait.  Talk about dirt on the hubby!

I’m so frustrated because the company that said they would wait for me to get better decided since it’s been 2 months that they aren’t going to wait.  I think a lot of this has to do with the temp agency telling me that no, let’s wait for you to be in a hard cast.  Now let’s wait till you are in a walking boot.  No let’s wait till you don’t have to use crutches, no let’s wait til you don’t have to use a cane, no let’s wait till you are able to wear shoes and don’t need a walking boot.  I’ve been fighting for two weeks now to go back to work and they found one excuse after another.  EVEN though I had a full doctors clearance with no restrictions for several weeks now.

I blow dried my hair for the first time December 5th today and wow, I’m amazed how nice it’s being.

I’ve slacked on my 365 project and my 1 thing project.  I need to figure out what I’m going to do with those and do it.

It’s a beautiful day in Cali with the sun shining and the temp in the 70’s…And I’m ready to get outside and do something.  But the hubby is at work and the dog is sleeping.  Sort of makes me want to take a nap too.

The Feb theme for NaBloPoMo is want.   I have to think about this.  I mean there are a lot of things I want.

But what about you?  Off the top of your head, what do you want?  Not what do you need, what do you WANT?

Insert Frustrated Post Here

So as I’m sure you know, I’ve been really frustred with this whole broken ankle thing.  I was cleared to go back to work on the 29th of December with the only restriction being I needed to elevate my foot.  Then the doctor cleared me to go back on the 5th of Jan with no restrictions.  So I went to the temp company I am working for and at first they said wait till the cast is off and we’ll see.  K well the cast comes off and they say well, let’s wait till you don’t have to use crutches or a walker.  Okayyyyyyy.  Now I’m in a walking boot, without a cane and don’t use a walker.  They turn around and say well we need to wait till you don’t have the boot on.  Ummmmm But I can walk just fine.

Today the big issue was could I wear a normal shoe.  As long as I can, then they’ll let me go back.  I’m frustrated because they keep putting me off.  This is a first for me with the temp game.  Every other time I’ve had to go through a temp company it’s been great results.  This just sucks.  I’m very frustrated at this point.  All this time I could have been working and they are putting me off simply because I have to wear a walking boot.  ARRRGGGGHHHHHH  I soooo feel like Charlie Brown right now when Lucy moves the football right before he kicks.

Am I wrong for being so frustrated?

Yep, last night.  Well sort of.  I made the speghetti sauce on my own.  I made the salad.  D just made the noodles and garlic bread.

Why am I so proud of the sauce and that I cooked?

Well, because I made the sauce on my own.  My own recipe.  And it turned out great!  I’m so suprised.  All I did was look at a couple of recipes online and then went to work in the kitchen.  Without a recipe!  Well now I have one and I’ll be making my own sauce in the future.  Nothing like a cajun speghetti sauce!  If you want to know the recipe let me know.

Other than that, it’s off to have a backup plan and try to find a job just in case I can’t go back to ISU.  I’m hoping to hear that I will be able to go back soon.  We’ll see.

I hope everyone is doing well!

The Good- I walked today without a boot! Yep, that’s right on my own

The Bad- I still haven’t heard if I can go back to work yet. I’m beginning to think that I need to just seriously start looking for another job.

The ugly- That was the hail that was on the ground this morning.

But other than that, I’m not one for words, how is everyone else doing?

Love you!

K I took this from Sunday Stealing Who took it from two other bloggers. I am going to post this because we are going on an “adventure” as the hubby says and not sure when we will be back today. So here we go…

1. If you could say anything you wanted to say to George Bush, what would you say? You tried with what you were given. We all mistakes. (Yeah, I’m a Republican)

2. If you had to be the mother of Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan, who would you choose and why? Wow, that’s a selection that makes you want to be childless. If I had to pick, Britney, at least she’s trying.

3. You get to be Queen for a day. The kids are all taken care of, and you can spend as much money as you want. What do you do all day? Ohhhhh I go to the spa, get my nails and toes done, then I go and get what I need for the house to be decorated and then I grab the hubby and head somewhere sweet and romantic for the day and decide to decorate later.

4. Is there a song that brings tears to your eyes every time you hear it? If so, which one? Amazing Grace. I always associate it with my father’s funeral now and it’s a beautiful song. Those two combined and I melt when I hear it.

5. A fairy taps you on the shoulder and tells you that you can either have a perfect face or a perfect body for the rest of your life. Which do you choose? Perfect body- at least I could kiss a diet goodbye! But only if I get to keep the face I have now.

6. If you could live any place in the world and money was no object, where would you live and why? Ireland. It’s always been a place where I would like to go, I’d pick to live there just to be able to study the culture and history

7. What is your biggest regret in life? Ohhhhh the biggest? That I gained all this weight in the first place.

8. If you could go back and visit one person in your life who is now dead, and ask one question, what would that question be and why would you ask it? Mamaw.(my father’s mother) The question? Did you just give up?

9. If you had the choice to age forward (like we are now) or aging backwards (think Benjamin Buttons) which would you choose and why? I think age forward like we are now. I don’t want to start out old and get young. I want to start out young and age gracefully!

10. What will the epitaph on your headstone say? She really did it!

What about you?

Update

Posted in Life by Donna on January 24, 2009

So I’ve started on another fanfic.  This one is a departure from my usual.  I haven’t posted it yet or the other one.  I miss some of my others they are on the dell and it’s in storage.  I started walking today without the cane fully.  I mean when I have the boot on I only use the boot.  When I have it off, I’m using the crutches but that’s only until I have more secure footing.

Keep your fingers crossed, maybe I can go back to work soon.

Sorry it’s a short entry, but it’s Saturday and I’m not much in a posting mood.

I hope everyone is having a good day.
