So today was a continuation of my birthday celebration and my plan to really celebrate this birthday.  And we did.  I spent most of the day just chillin’ and working on cross stitch.  Then at 4 we started the party which was all the close family.  I got my sheet cake, I’ll post pictures sometime.  We had fajita’s with veggies and beans and an awesome guacamole that Florrie made.  After dinner we did the cake and I blew out my three candles that were matches.  And I got more presents!  Chocolate from Florrie, a book from Katy and Jeremy and a scrapbook organizer from Judy!  Wow, I really got some wonderful gifts and they all contribute to my things to do.  The sangria was great, the margarita was wonderful.  We played games, chilled out and just had fun.

All in all it’s been a really great birthday and it’s been celebrated in an awesome way.   A great start to a great year coming up!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Another Year It Is

So yesterday was my birthday.

33.  Yep, that’s my age.  In a way I can’t believe it.  But here I am.  Starting out another year in my life.  One that I’m determined is going to be a great one.  We celebrated last night with pizza, a tiramisu cake and even a key lime pie.  The hubby got me a note book for my writing, a journal for one of my projects, a picture frame, a Nora Roberts book and I can’t forget a DVD of one of my favorite TV shows, Drew Carey!!!  I got a wonderful lavender smelling bath collection from my brother in law.  And from my father in law and mother in law I got a really neat Energy Medicine kit.  I’m really excited to start using it.  It has a DVD, a CD of exercises, illustrated cards, a booklet and a healing crystal.  Ohhh and I can’t forget the wonderful Cannon Camera and Printer from my other mother in law!  I spent the day just chilling out, working on my cross stitch, which I finished!!!!  We ended the night playing a little Munchkin Fu.

I talked to most of my family and friends over the course of the day.  It was a weird birthday not being home but at the same time it was sort of nice.  I got some phone calls that were just the highlight of my day, hearing some voices that I terribly needed to hear not only for the day but just in general.  All in all it was a great day.  To be followed by another great day because Sunday is the big party.

With the Mexican Food.  Margaritas.  Family.  I can’t wait. So this year, I’m really going to celebrate it.  And when I do, I’m not flashing ANYONE.

I. Promise.  No more flashes of 30.

After all, that was sooooo 3 years ago.  HAHAHAHAHA

On this Day

in 1943 the Pentagon was dedicated as the world’s largest office building.

in 1947 Happy Days Premiered

in 1976 there were 21 days where the minimum temperature was 32 or below

Also in ’76 Sara Jane Moore was given life in prison for her attempt on President Ford in San Francisco.

So why is today so important?

Well, back in ’76 at 3:17 am a baby girl weighing 8 lbs and 2 oz graced the world with her presence (haha) and has been here every since.  Yeah, that was me.  I’m a whole 33 today.  And I’m actually excited about it.

And last but not least, the quote of the day-

“For all sad words of tounge and pen the saddest are those ‘It might have been'”  John Greenleaf Whittier

I hope you have a great day!  I know I will!
